We protect public health and prevent foodborne illness by assuring the quality of the food supply in Rhode Island through our licensing, inspection, and food safety manager certification standards. Licenses are required for individuals and organizations, such as restaurants, caterers, and non-profit organizations, that are involved in the production, distribution, and sale of food.
All licensees must report any changes in contact information to the Office of Food Protection within ten days.
