

The Department of Health can provide meaningful internship experiences to help students and others develop their skills and learn about public health careers. We encourage potential interns to learn more about how we are organized and what we do to protect and promote public health in Rhode Island. Depending on your interests and background, academic, paid, volunteer, or service internships may be available in a wide range of public health fields.
Many undergraduate and graduate students participate in or are required to fulfill internships as part of their course study. The Department of Health can provide internships for workstudy or academic credit. Students can gain valuable work experience, academic credit, references, and exposure to future career options. In return, the Department benefits from helping students complete significant projects and attracting students to public health careers.
