Water is essential to life. We all play a role in ensuring that the water we drink and use is clean and available.

What you should do

• Use and dispose of hazardous materials, including pesticides and fertilizers wisely to avoid polluting water sources (more)

• Ensure that public water suppliers are taking correct measures to treat and protect their water supplies (more)
• Developed plans for the assessment and protection of drinking water sources in cooperation with the University of Rhode Cooperative Extension and EPA
• Support the efforts of the Department of Environmental Management to regulate watersheds protection.
