The Department of Health is encouraging all Rhode Islanders to receive the H1N1 vaccine. Even if you think you are healthy, you are still at risk. The more people who get vaccinated, the less likely it is that we will see a third wave of H1N1 flu this spring.

The Department set a goal of vaccinating 500,000 Rhode Islanders against H1N1 flu by Valentine’s Day, 2010. We’ll announce our results once the complete count of how many Rhode Islanders were vaccinated through February 14 is available.

While February 14 may have passed, flu season has not. You’re still at risk if you have not been vaccinated against H1N1 flu, even if you already had a flu-like illness this year. Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated.
